I am the daughter of Clarence Wintfrey and Eva Colleen (Upton) Powers. I was raised by my Grandparents, Edward Walter
and Martha Evaline (Underwood) Upton. I started researching my Upton family history just a few months ago. I have really
been lucky in a lot of ways. There is more information available out there than I ever dreamed. All you have to do is take
the time to look. My cousin, Virginia, and I became determined to find the answers to several questions that have loomed
over the family for years. Questions like, where my Great-Grandmother is buried, and where and when her youngest son died
and where he is buried. No one in the family seemed to know. We not only found the locations of these graves, but we
located another son and daughter-in-law whose burial where- abouts was not known to us. Not only that, I have been in contact
with cousins I never knew existed. And this is a real joy. I can find out things now about Uncles and Aunts that were only
names to me in the past. Genealogy has become more than a word in these past few months. It has become a driving force
for me to find the real history of my family. I just hope everyone who has a curiousity about family background will
continue to search and ask questions. The answers are out there. Just have patience and keep at it, you will find what you
are searching for.
